I have been using them for a while, and they where a good product, but the Swiss Bankers Travelers Cheques are now best avoided. In two places (Lisbon/Portugal and Knokke/Belgium), they did either refuse to cash them or wanted very high fees (€34 in a big bank in Lisbon). I was able to cash them at Western Union, but against fees.
I guess all banks want to avoid this paperwork stuff and this is why they push us to plastic money and electronic transactions. Probably to allow SWITCH to record our data for Echelon and the NSA. Say RIP to Travelers Cheques and Hi to Big Brother. Georges Orwell must have some fun watching us.
