I bought this label printer based on the OS X and Linux support. Respect to Brother for their multi-platform drivers, other manufacturers ignore anything beside Window$. The printer comes with a cool software called P-touch Editor.
I downloaded the software online, but when using the version for OS X 10.5.x (Leopard), it always crashed with this message in the crash monitor :
Process: P-touch Status Monitor [12396] Path: /Library/Printers/Brother/P-touch Utilities/P-touch Status Monitor.app/Contents/MacOS/P-touch Status Monitor Identifier: com.brother.utilities.StatusMonitor Version: ??? The solution was to use the older driver, labeled 10.3.9 to 10.4.x. It’s now working perfectly. Brother support didn’t help much with my issue, but I have seen they provide a version for Snow Leopard, so at least I know I can upgrade and get my labels done.
