iOS 4 on my iPhone 3G

I waited for a few days after iOS4 public availability to upgrade my 2-years old iPhone 3G. Having a need for some applications only available for jailbreaked phones, I used PwnageTool 4.01 to upgrade and jailbreak at the same time.

The restore of my custom IPS image in DFU mode failed with error 1600. To fix it, I had to create an “expert” image in PwnageTool and use 1000 Mb size for the root filesystem (tip from some forum). After this, the DFU restore worked. After reboot, no Swisscom GSM/3G service at all, I had to install Ultrasn0w from Cydia. Now it seem everything is working again.

Apple still doesn’t provide a week-view in their calendar. I impatiently wait for the CalDAV-enabled version of PocketInformant to get this feature.
